Why ‚The Simpsons‘ Creator Gave Poker Player Jennifer Tilly a ‚Piece‘ of Iconic Show

On Tuesday’s episode of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, Jennifer Tilly shared some surprising information about her wealth that many of her Hollywood and poker fans may not have been aware of. The actress, who is a favorite on poker shows like High Stakes Poker, has made multiple appearances in Season 14 of the popular reality TV series, RHOBH. She isn’t the main character of the season and has come onto the show as a „friend“ of one of the Beverly Hills housewives. However, her appearance in the latest episode sparked discussion on social media and various Hollywood blogs and news outlets when she revealed an intriguing fact about her well-known ex-husband, Sam Simon. Jennifer Tilly. Simon co-created The Simpsons, the most beloved American animated sitcom of all time. The series started in 1989 and continues to be broadcast on Fox TV today. Tilly and Simon were married from 1984 to 1991, overlapping with the early years of The Simpsons, a time when, as the actress acknowledges, no one anticipated the show would be a success for 30 years. Simon died in 2015, several years after Tilly started her relationship with poker star Phil Laak (they are still together). However, as the Bride of Chucky actress mentioned in Tuesday’s episode of RHOBH, she continues to profit significantly from her divorce in the early 1990s. „Getting over a divorce takes a really long time,“ Tilly shared with the viewers of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills. „My former husband was Sam Simon, the creator of The Simpsons.“ She went on to say, „when we divorced, I received a share of The Simpsons in the settlement, and no one anticipated that The Simpsons would continue for an incredibly long time.“
